1) How long have you been shooting weddings? I have been shooting weddings for over 15 years now. I have shot over 900 weddings...and I love it even more today than the day I started.
2) Tell me about your post-production editing? All images go through extensive post-production editing that includes removing blemishes, reducing fine lines, whitening teeth, evening out skin tone, removing distracting background images and adding artistic touches, such as, hand-painting, tinting, toning and wherever else the winds of creativity may blow me.
3) Can we purchase RAW files? I believe Photography is truly an art form: from composing the image and ensuring it is shot with correct exposure, depth of field, etc. to the final image. My clients hire me because they love the images that I create and the way the final product is delivered (i.e. my post processing/editing). For this reason I do not sell RAW (unedited) files.
4) How long until I can see my proofs? Please allow 4-6 weeks for photos to be edited and uploaded. Good editing takes time. During peak wedding season it can take a little longer...during slower times, I will typically have them to you much sooner.
5) Do you have professional liability Insurance? Yes, I carry professional liability insurance.
6) Will I receive copyright to my images? Wedding packages come with a Personal Use Release, which gives you (not your friends or family) the right to reproduce prints for your own personal use...it does not give you the right to sell the images or use them commercially without written permission. It also does not give you the right to post un-credited images online....if you want FB ready files that you can share online, please let us know and we will happily supply you with the images ready to upload.
This is only for weddings...in most other circumstances, I retain full copyright.
7) Do you carry back-up equipment? Yes, I have 3 or 4 professional cameras on me at all times, as well as, several lenses, back-up flashes, battery packs...you name it, I have it with me and ready to go.
8) What is your style of photography? Although every wedding/couple is unique, I prefer photojournalism, but feel that there needs to be a mix of photojournalism and traditional photography in order to get the very best photos on your wedding day. I do not do a lot of stiff poses, I will more direct you and your movement and interaction with each other and/or the camera in order to capture you in a relaxed and natural way.
9) My wedding is not on a Saturday or Sunday, are your rates less for midweek weddings? Absolutely! The weekends are when I am in most demand, however if your having a midweek wedding or event, I offer hourly rates....you can pick how many hours you need and add any albums or products you'd like to build your own package.
10) Anything else, I should know when considering you for my wedding? Yes, it is very important to me that I have some time alone with the bride and groom on the big day. I don't insist on a lot of time usually 15 or 20 minutes is OK. I need this time without others distracting us and making you feel uncomfortable, so that I can get the relaxed natural shots that I strive for. If this is a problem for you, then I am probably not the right photographer for you.
